Glastonbury Festival 2014

Poetry&Words 2014

Glastonbury Festival’s poetry stage brings you a veritable smorgasboard of top quality, international poetic talent.  We host the best in spoken word, stand-up poetry, performance poetry and poetry-music fusions.  Our showcase artists this year include: Michael Rosen, one of Britain’s best known children’s writers and performers, who writes wonderful words for children and adults alike; festival favourite, John Hegley (pictured), who is both 'awesomely mundane' (The Independent) and 'scandalously talented' (Sunday Times); and Canadian folk spoken-word collective The Fugitives, who have been described as “the missing link between Leonard Cohen and the Pogues” (Georgia Straight).

Bursting with inspiration, innovation and heart-thumpingly awesome wordplay, Poetry&Words is one corner of the festival you really won’t want to pass by.  If all this leaves you reaching for your notebook, then why not take part in our Saturday afternoon open mic. or Sunday evening slam?  Ask at the tent for more details.

You can follow Poetry&Words online through Facebook, WordPress and Twitter.
