Welcome aboard the HMS (His Michael’s Ship) CROISSANT NEUF anchored in the heart of the Glastonbury festival Greenfields, just over the old railway line on the left heading towards the stone circle.
Amidst the tides of climate and radical change this ship will sail you forth into the sea of sustainability at its highest peak, swashbuckling our way through the crest of the waves of an eclectic music line up, promising to ride you through the most fast and furious storms of the likes of Laid Blak and The Destroyers back down to the gentle and tranquil dulcet tones of The Vicars Choral and Moya Brennen (Clannad) and her family.
Whether you are a Glastonbury Festival veteran or taking your first steps into the world of festival – the Croissant Neuf Field can promise you an experience like nothing you’ve experienced before!!
As is our heritage, environmental issues are at the forefront of everything we do. Our entire field is 100% Solar Powered – yes completely off the grid and our pioneering approach has won us The Best Green Festival Awards 3 times over from The UK Festival Awards with our own Croissant Neuf Summer Party, nestled in the beautiful hills of Monmouthshire (www.cnsp.co.uk) - an inspiration for Worthy Farm to install their own solar farm to make clean green electricity.
Here we are proud to have been pioneering and showcasing the potential of wind and solar power for over 2 decades, where all electricity is generated entirely from the sun, powering lighting around our arena (by Selene Events Ltd and Wind & Sun Ltd) to main stage PA (by Event Solar Ltd) in the Croissant Neuf venue.
Having set sail across the sea of sustainability we have landed in the exotic oasis of the Croissant Neuf field, a legendary treasure in itself, where you can enjoy a special sun soaked weekend of solar power, music, laughter, friendship and relaxation. Mooch around and talk to experts on Alternative Energy uses with Wind and Sun Ltd and Solar Energy Alliance…….or learn how to build an Eco Home with self build pioneers Ecomotive from Bristol. Heal those niggling ailments with herbs, tinctures and brews from modern day witches Sensory Solutions.
Everbody loves a festival bargain – here we host an array of traders ranging from postcards to dressing up fancy or anything and everything in between. So grab a souvenir to take home or send home, all products guaranteed to be fair trade, organic as possible and sustainable.
SO WHATS NEW?...........................
New for this year……………………..
Next to the long established Croissant Neuf Venue, new to the Greenfields, we welcome Fat Belly’s Puppet Café – to sustain your appetite from scrumptious tantalising nibbles to all day breakfast and mouthwatering meals – something to suit the tastebuds of every palette.
For the first time ever at Glastonbury Festival we are proud, honoured and excited to present The Vicars Choral of Wells who are celebrating their 650th year and will be opening our venue at 1pm on Friday with their sublime voices singing out Beatles ballads and other such well knowns. Definitely an event to go down in history!
In fact the whole line up is virtually new apart from good old stalwarts like Biggles Wartime Jugband, an all time favourite on our bandstand on Thursday afternoon.
