Performance Areas
At Glastonbury there must be over 40 different venues, ranging from the majestic Pyramid Stage to small stages in cafes - all equally worthy of a visit. The information provided about these stages in these pages explains a little about the type of acts you will see there. Information about past years and reviews can be found in the archive here.
Performance Times
Performances on Glastonbury's principal stages begin at 10 o'clock on Friday morning. The main stages, as well as favourite spots such as the Band Stand and Avalon, close down at 00.30 hours on Friday and Saturday, and at midnight on Sunday. However, in certain areas - notably The Park and Shangri-La - the music keeps flowing until 5.00 or 6.00 am!
If you arrive on Wednesday you can find acoustic music on offer in some of the cafes and tents around the site if you seek it out. Some performance venues start on Thursday afternoon and don't wind down until 3.00 am - such as some of the Dance Stages, Theatre and Circus, Greenfield venues, and performance cafes in the market areas, including The Queen's Head, Late 'n' Live, The Jazz Lounge, and Chai Wallah's.
The Cinema Field welcomes film buffs from 1pm on Thursday (earlier at 11.00 am on following days) with the programme running right through until 4.00 in the morning
