2020 Abbey Extravaganza date confirmed – ticket vouchers on sale

Last modified: March 25, 2020

UPDATE (25 March 2020): In light of the current unprecedented circumstances – which include the temporary closure of the Glastonbury Abbey – we are sorry to announce that this year’s Glastonbury Abbey Extravaganza will not now be able to go ahead.

Tickets for the event had yet to go on sale – and the line-up had not yet been announced – but anyone who had already bought a gift voucher for a 2020 Abbey Extravaganza ticket will be able to roll their voucher over to exchange it for a 2021 Abbey Extravaganza ticket. Those who would prefer a refund will be able to get one via the Abbey once it reopens. Further details will be added to the Abbey’s website soon.

We apologise that the event is not able to take place, but we look forward to welcoming you back to the abbey for next year’s Extravaganza.

—————————

We’re very pleased to confirm that this year’s Glastonbury Abbey Extravaganza will take place on Saturday 1st August, 2020, when the event will return to the Abbey’s spectacular surroundings for the 24th time.

Although the bill is yet to be announced, the popular Extravaganza gift vouchers are on sale now. Click here for more info and to buy. Accompanied children aged five and under do not require a ticket. Booking and postage fees apply. Terms and conditions apply.

Vouchers can also be bought from the Abbey shop – to be redeemed for adult or child tickets.

Glastonbury 2020 accommodation on sale Thursday 21st November

Last modified: November 21, 2019

Bookings for caravan/campervan tickets, onsite tipis and the Worthy View pre-erected campsite will open on Thursday 21st November, 2019, at glastonbury.seetickets.com.

In addition to these options, as part of our continued commitment to reducing camping waste at the Festival, we are pleased to introduce Sticklinch – our new official pre-erected campsite, for the 2020 Festival.

If you have booked a coach + ticket package, you will have access to a pre-sale for Sticklinch and Worthy View accommodation, at 6pm.

The pre-sale will be followed by a general release, open to all coach + ticket package and general admission ticket holders, at 7pm.

For more information about all of these options, please see below. You can, of course, also choose to camp within the Festival’s main camping areas, which is included within the price of your ticket.

Please note that, in previous years, this accommodation has sold out quickly, so we recommend trying when it goes on sale if you wish to book.

WORTHY VIEW

Worthy View is Glastonbury’s original official pre-erected campsite. Now in its seventh year the site offers simple, unpretentious pre-erected Festival accommodation, a short, steep climb up the hill from the Festival site (above the Stone Circle) – leaving you with nothing to carry home but your bedding & bags. The Worthy View car park is in a dedicated field, a short walk from the accommodation (but we would encourage guests to travel by public transport wherever possible). A full list of the options available at Worthy View can be found here.

STICKLINCH CAMPSITE

Like our existing campsite at Worthy View, Sticklinch will offer unpretentious, custom-made and pre-erected Festival accommodation a short walk from the Festival site. The Sticklinch pre-erected campsite will be home to a range of Podpads, Tipis, Yurts and Bell Tents, as well as a limited number of the Festival’s signature scout-style tents, and offers a more gently undulating walk to the Festival site, ideal for those who find the climb to Worthy View challenging. The Sticklinch car park is in the adjacent field, a short walk from the accommodation, but we would encourage guests to travel by public transport wherever possible. Full details of the accommodation options on offer at Sticklinch can be found here.

CAMPERVAN/CARAVAN TICKETS

Anyone planning to bring a campervan or caravan in 2020 will need to book their own campervan/caravan tickets (£125 per ticket for a regular pitch; or £225 for oversized vehicles) and will need to present both their named campervan/caravan ticket and Festival tickets to be able to park in these fields. Campervan/caravan tickets will feature the name and address of the ticket booker. An FAQ about campervan/caravan tickets can be found here.

TIPIS

The Festival Tipi Village, on the southern slopes of the Festival site between the Green Fields and the Park continues to offer a unique camping experience within the Festival fence line. Each tipi costs £1150 to hire, and can sleep up to 6 people. Tipis come complete with groundsheet and rain-catcher; however they are intended to be an elemental experience, without the trappings of ‘luxury’ campsites. You will need to bring your own bedding, and expect to be using basic camping facilities. For further information please click here.

We are incredibly excited to announce that Paul McCartney will headline the Pyramid Stage on the Saturday night of next year’s Glastonbury Festival, on June 27th.

Said Glastonbury co-organiser Emily Eavis: “Having Paul McCartney coming back to headline the Pyramid next year is an absolute dream come true. There really was no one that we wanted more for the 50th anniversary.”

McCartney previously headlined the Festival in 2004.

We’re delighted to announce that Diana Ross will return to the UK for a once-in-a-lifetime performance in the legendary Sunday teatime slot on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury 2020, on Sunday, June 28th.

With an extraordinary career in the spotlight that spans over five decades, the pop-culture icon will bring her timeless music, sparkle and glamour to the Festival’s 50th anniversary.

“To all my fans across the world, this is my tribute to you,” said Ms Ross. “Every concert feels like a private party, I can see your eyes and feel your hearts. I’m coming to Glastonbury, with love.”

Said Glastonbury co-organiser Emily Eavis: “I am delighted to say that one of the all-time greats, the wonderful Diana Ross, is coming to Glastonbury to play the Sunday legend slot on the Pyramid next year.”

Ms Ross is considered one of the most successful recording artists and entertainers of all time, with more than 50 number one hits around the globe and 100 million records sold.

In 2016, President Obama said about Ms. Ross, “she exudes grace, her influence is inescapable,” as he presented her with the Medal of Freedom Honor, the most prestigious award given to a US citizen. The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences acknowledged her incredible career with its highest honor, The Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012.

The upcoming performance marks Ms. Ross’ first live appearance in the UK since 2008.

Glastonbury 2020 tickets sell out

Last modified: October 6, 2019

Standard tickets for Glastonbury 2020 sold out this morning in 34 minutes. All tickets for next year’s event have now been sold – including the coach + ticket packages sold on Thursday night.

If you paid a deposit this morning, you should receive your confirmation email within the next few hours. And remember that you will need to pay your ticket balance in the first week of April 2020.

We are truly humbled by the incredible number of people from around the world who hoped to come to next year’s 50th Anniversary Festival, with demand significantly outstripping supply.

We’re sorry to all of those who missed out – as always, we wish we could squeeze everybody in who would like to come.

There will be a resale of any returned coach + ticket packages on Thursday 16th April 2020 followed by a general admission resale on Sunday 19th April 2020. Registration will open again on 1st November.

To mark the Festival’s 50th Anniversary, we have also held back 50 pairs of tickets which will be sold via a ballot to those who have missed out so far. Details will be announced in the coming days.

Thank you for your amazing support.

Full 2020 Ticket Info

Last modified: September 30, 2019

The full Glastonbury 2020 ticket information is now available over on our Tickets Page, and is well worth a thorough read if you’re hoping to buy tickets. For our quick guide, please see below.

REGISTRATION

UPDATE: As of 5pm on Monday, 30th September, registration is now closed. There will be no further opportunity to submit/re-submit a registration until after the October ticket sales.

As part of our ongoing efforts against ticket touting, anyone who would like to attend the Festival will need to have registered in advance before attempting to book a ticket. Registration remains free of charge and only takes a few minutes.

Registration will close at 5pm on Monday, 30th September, after which there will be no opportunity to submit/re-submit a registration until after the October ticket sales.

We strongly advise that you submit your registration at least a week in advance of that deadline, as without a valid registration number for each person for whom you wish to book a ticket, you will not be able to book tickets.

If you are already registered with the Festival, you do not need to re-register. However we would advise you check your existing registration here and update your photo if it is no longer of a good likeness, well in advance of registration closing on 30th September.

Children aged 12 and under when the Festival takes place are admitted free of charge and do not need a ticket and do not need to register.

Please note, registration does not guarantee you a ticket (and in recent years, demand for tickets has outstripped supply).

BE PREPARED

In order to make a booking you will need the registration number and registered postcode for each person you are booking a ticket for, as well as a valid debit (UK only) or credit card with sufficient funds to cover your full transaction, and all the security information for that card.

Please be careful to enter all of your details accurately, as any details which don’t match will cause your transaction attempt to fail.

GO GREEN! CATCH A COACH TICKET & GET PRIORITY BOOKING FOR WORTHY VIEW

The first chance to buy tickets for the 2020 Festival will go to those booking a coach + ticket package, as part of the Festival’s continued commitment to green travel. These coach + ticket packages will go on sale at 6pm BST on Thursday, 3rd October, via glastonbury.seetickets.com.

As well as being the first to secure Glastonbury tickets, those travelling to the Festival with a coach + ticket package will have access to an additional benefit for 2020. When accommodation goes on sale later in the autumn for Worthy View (the Festival’s official pre-erected campsite), priority booking will be given to coach + ticket package holders.

You may book up to six coach tickets per transaction. When booking a coach package you will need to pay the deposit (£50) plus full coach fare, with the Festival ticket balance due in the first week of April 2020.

A full list of departure towns and prices can be found below.

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN TICKETS GO ON SALE

Standard weekend tickets will go on sale at 9am BST on Sunday, 6th October.

Tickets will cost £265 + £5 booking fee.

As in previous years, tickets will be sold exclusively at glastonbury.seetickets.com. You may book up to six tickets per transaction by paying a deposit of £50 per person, with the balance due in the first week of April 2020.

A limited number of people will be given access to the booking site at any one time. Whilst you are waiting to access the booking site you will be held at this page until there is a space on the booking site for you to start the booking process. The page will automatically refresh to look for space on the booking page every 20 seconds.

If the amount of traffic on the website is particularly high, you may see a reduced version of the See Tickets booking site, with a minimal version of the holding page. This does not mean the site has crashed! (Quite the opposite in fact – this means the site is serving the maximum number of people at the same time.)

Once you reach the first page of the booking site, you will be asked to enter the registration number and registered postcode for the lead booker and up to 5 other individuals.

When you proceed, the details you have provided will be displayed on the next page.

Please check that these are the people you expect to be booking tickets for, as these cannot be changed once you proceed with your booking.

If you are booking a coach package, you will be asked to choose the departure town (and time for towns with multiple departures). It is only possible to book tickets from one departure town in a single transaction. If the option you have selected is not available, please choose a different town or day that is convenient for you. Travel on the coach you have selected is mandatory in order to receive your Festival ticket, so please only book on routes that are feasible for you.

Once all your information is correct, please proceed to the payment page.

Once you reach the payment page you will have 5 minutes to submit your payment information, so please take your time to enter this information accurately. The time remaining will be shown on the right hand side of your screen:

Please note, your registration numbers will be locked for up to 10 minutes if your details are entered incorrectly, an attempt to book is already held against your registration number, or your 5 minutes on the booking page ends. If the transaction fails and tickets are still available, your registration number will be released to give you the chance to try again.

If the page ‘hangs’ and you can’t get any further, try pressing back once and then continue your booking from that point.

If that doesn’t help, close your browser and start again. Please don’t continue to refresh the page more than 10 minutes after entering your details as your access to the page will have expired. You will need to close the browser and start again to gain fresh access to the booking page.

BE REASONABLE AND CONSIDERATE

Every year, the amount of devices trying to connect to the Festival’s booking site increases. Whilst we understand that everyone wants to have the best possible chance of booking a ticket, running multiple devices simultaneously to attempt to access the website is a waste of valuable resources, and doesn’t reflect the ethos of the Festival. Please stick to one device and one tab, so that you can focus on entering your details without confusing your browser and help us make the ticket sale as quick and stress free as possible for all.

DON’T GIVE UP

Even If you aren’t successful in securing tickets in the ticket sales in October, you will have another chance to book in the Spring resales, when any returned tickets go back on sale. The coach resale will take place on Thursday 16th April 2020 followed by the main resale, on Sunday 19th April 2020.

DON’T BE FOOLED

The demand for tickets is likely to be very high but please don’t be tempted or fooled by bogus sellers.
Tickets will be sold exclusively at glastonbury.seetickets.com. Do not attempt to book tickets from third parties.

ACCOMMODATION

Further information campervan/caravan tickets, tipis and pre-erected accommodation will be available on the Festival website later in October.

Last modified: September 8, 2019

Here are Jason Bryant’s photos from last night’s Pilton Party at Worthy Farm, where terrific performances from Wolf Alice, our Special Guests Supergrass (playing their first show in a decade), Sam Richardson and Pattern Pusher helped raise thousands for Pilton village funds. Thank you to everyone who came along!
