Pet Shop Boys’ Glastonbury set released

Last modified: November 5, 2010

The Pet Shop Boys’ hit-filled set seems to have been among many people’s Glastonbury 2010 highlights, with the Guardian’s Dorian Lynskey summing up the mood by calling it, “A masterclass in how to deploy a glittering back catalogue to maximum effect.”

So, we thought you might like to know that the band’s entire Glastonury 2010 performance is available on the bonus DVD edition of their new greatest hits CD, Ultimate, which is out this week. You can get it from Amazon by clicking here.

40% off the 40th Anniversary Scrapbook

Last modified: October 25, 2010

Celebrating 40 years of the Festival, the Glastonbury scrapbook features exclusive material from the personal archives of the Eavis family, from tickets and posters to pictures and personal messages.

The full colour scrapbook offers a 120-page look at the Festival over the years, with hand-written captions by Emily and Michael

You can now buy this limited edition book for the reduced price of £6 (a saving of 40% on the original price) from Oxfam’s website, by clicking here. £3.50 from each sale will go to aid Oxfam’s efforts in Haiti.

Please note the book was published just before the 2010 Festival, which is thus not featured.

Here are some examples of pages from the scrapbook:

Plus, of course, you’ll be doing your bit to keep CO2 emissions to a minimum. And prices are being kept at 2010 levels for next year.

2011 tickets sell out in four hours

Last modified: October 3, 2010

Tickets for Glastonbury 2011 sold out earlier today, after just over 4 hours (which, we’re pleased to say, is 8 hours quicker than last year). Thank you to everyone who was online and on the phone from 9am this morning.

We’re very sorry to those of you who didn’t get tickets, and acknowledge there were some issues with the website/phoneline due to the sheer volume of people trying to get through. We wish there was a way to fit everyone in who wanted to come.

Thanks for all your support. We’re looking forward to seeing those of you who got tickets next June.

2010 Climate Camp film

Last modified: September 29, 2010

The small but perfectly formed Climate Camp Tripod Stage, tucked away in a sunny corner of the Green Fields, was one of Glastonbury 2010’s secret pleasures. Highlights on the solar powered, semi-acoustic tiny stage included gigs from Sam Duckworth (of Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly.), ETC early bird winners My Luminaries, Robin Ince, Attila the Stockbroker, Lulu and the Lampshades and Dry The River.

All this and a nightly ceilidh (hosted by Green Kite Midnight) and some amazing performances conducted with kitchen utensils and old yogurt pots. Great fun if organiser’s Amelia Gregory’s magic megaphone lured you in there. If not, here’s a little film of some of the best bits (thanks for the kind words, Sam!).
