Dance Village's 2009 plans unveiled

22nd April 2009

Returning this summer with no less than six amazing venues, the Dance Village truly is a party-within-a-party, a whole community of like-minded thrill seekers, toe-tappers and body-movers, nestled in the heart of your favourite festival.

We’ll be kicking things off early on Thursday evening with a super-secret, fun-filled line-up in the Dance Lounge and a now infamous opening party from our favourite Radio One celeb in the ever-glamorous Pussy Parlure.

Bigger, badder and better for 2009, our two bang-bang behemoths East and West dance will host many of the biggest names in dance music. From disco to dubstep and booty bass to breaks, these two big tops will be filled from top to bottom by day with musical treats to suit all manner of ear-tastes.

When the sun is well and truly down, we’re hugely excited to announce that the Novak 3D Disco will be making its festival world premiere in the Dance Village as part of our nightly entertainment. Featuring eye-popping high-definition graphics, and revisiting more pop-culture than you could with a time-travelling DeLorean, 3D Disco combines cutting-edge club music with a classic twist and epic visuals that spill from the screens… literally!

As if this sensory overload isn’t enough, exclusively at Glastonbury 3D Disco meets Silent Disco, to turn our after-hours entertainment into a groundbreaking audio-visual experiment, and make sure there’s somewhere to party ‘til the sun comes up!

And don’t forget the outdoor G-stage for all those ravers who can’t wait to stomp their feet firmly into the famous Glastonbury dirt. Come rain or shine it’ll be blasting out a soundtrack of squelching basslines, tribal rhythms and four-to-the-floor head bangers.

The leftfield stylings of the inimitable Pussy Parlure will, as ever, be held in the beautiful oversized music box that is their 1930’s Spiegeltent. With comedic cabaret, must-move music and plenty of burlesque bounce, fans of the fringe won’t have far to travel.

So, from esoteric treats for true musical swashbucklers to conventional curios for the less adventurous amongst us, the Dance Village has something for everyone. Add to all this the mellowing influence of the triple-domed Magic Bubbles area offering friendly food and carefully orchestrated chill-out; the mysteriously named Boudoir which is… well you’ll just have to wait and see; and make-over masters Bitch-n-Stitch on hand to pimp-out your party, and, well what more could you want? Oh yeah, then there’s the rest of the Festival! Enjoy!
