Michael Eavis has train named in his honour
23rd April 2015
This morning at London’s Paddington Station, Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis had a First Great Western high-speed train named in his honour. The Festival’s logo also features on the train, which will run between Paddington and the south west of England.
Michael told the Guardian: “There have been ups and downs over the last 45 years of the Festival but this is one of the best moments… Public transport is important to Glastonbury. We encourage people to arrive by train or bus rather than car.”
First Great Western will lay on 50 extra trains to and from Castle Cary during this year’s Glastonbury, carrying an expected 15,000 Festival goers. Bookings are open now at www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk.
