Mozambique visit with WaterAid

14th June 2013

Michael and Emily visited WaterAid’s work in Mozambique in 2006. This year we sent our film maker and a journalist and photographer from the Western Daily Press and Mid Somerset Series to see the impact of the Festival’s continuing support for the charity.

We visited schools, communities and farming collectives who had all benefitted from improved access to safe water and sanitation. The impact on their lives was incredible and immediately obvious. Access to these basic services allows people to be healthier, more productive and lead more sustainable lives. They form the very first step out of poverty and allow people the chance to flourish.

WaterAid transforms lives by improving access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation in the world’s poorest communities. This year the charity is campaigning to get world leaders to ‘Pump up the Volume’ and agree to a world where everyone everywhere has access to safe water and sanitation by 2030.
