PRS for Music Foundation partners with Emerging Talent Competition
3rd April 2014
As part of our ongoing relationship with PRS for Music, we’re very pleased to announce that the PRS for Music Foundation has partnered with us for this year’s Emerging Talent Competition, ahead of the live finals which take place in Pilton on Saturday.
As well as being given a slot on one of the Festival’s main stages at Glastonbury 2014, the winners of the competition will be awarded a £5,000 PRS for Music Foundation Talent Development prize, to help take their songwriting and performing to the next level. Two runners-up will also each be awarded a £2,500 Talent Development prize.
Vanessa Reed, Executive Director of PRS for Music Foundation said, “In our work as the UK’s leading charitable funder of new music, we know that artists need time and money to invest in their songwriting and business development. We hope this new prize will enable the Emerging Talent Competition winners to think creatively about their next steps, building on the exposure they will receive at Glastonbury and the kudos of winning this incredibly popular competition.”
This prize forms part of PRS for Music Foundation’s celebration of PRS for Music’s Centenary. See www.prsformusicfoundation.com for more information.
