The Bandstand line-up announced
6th June 2009
Nestling in the centre of the markets, opposite the Cider Bus, and only a stone’s throw from the Pyramid Arena, the Bandstand‘s mission is to surprise you. Amidst the craziness of Glastonbury, you might think that’s a bit of a tall order, you might think, but we can do it by being still more crazoo – or by being artistically subtle off in another direction entirely. We won’t be putting on acts you’ll have heard of (unless you’re as hip as us, of course, daahhling) but they’re guaranteed to be utterly unlike anything on the Pyramid (or even the nearby Queen’s Head), and in at least one important way better – ‘cos you can get close up and we don’t have video screens.
The Bandstand is also going to be home to a variety of walkabout performers whose mission is surprise too… And this year, to cap it all, we’re open on Wednesday too!
