Greencrafts Village
make, connect, inspire

A legendary field at Glastonbury, Greencrafts – the first ever crafts area at a festival, is an amazing place to experience. This year once again bringing an incredible lineup of fantastic creative opportunities.
If you’re interested in sustainability, hands-on making, the natural world and skill-share; this is the field for you!
Open every day from Wednesday at 10am (when many parts of the Festival are still not quite open) the Greencrafts field has over 60 venues, each run by independent makers, artists and craftspeople, who all use natural materials and only hand or solar power. Sustainability, skill-share, holistic well-being, and heritage craft traditions are at the forefront.
There’s hundreds of daily workshops on offer, all geared up for channelling your creative side and the making of beautiful sustainable items to take home (below is a full listing – from making silver rings to bars of soap, to wooden spoons, baskets and drums.) The independent makers are all small outfits and bring with them an assortment of canvas shelters, wooden wagons, yurts, tipis, and geo-domes for you to work in.
- From 10am to 11am daily, it’s the field’s Happy Hour, when all activities are free.
- All groups do a £5 making workshop, as an entry-level making of something small fairly quickly (from half an hour on). And this scales up to more expansive workshops where you can take longer and make something significant.
- You can always ask to ‘have a go for free’.
- No experience is needed.
- You can drop-by anyday, or book direct with craftspeople from the Wednesday morning onward.
Making with natural materials and hand tools is profoundly positively affecting for all humans. And this experience is matched with the elemental forces of fire, earth, air and water, which changed by the alchemy of human hand, becomes transformative. Greencrafts lead internationally in bringing this experience to festival goers; and has trail-blazed countless inspirations.
The field is one below the stone circle (with stunning views across the event). There’s loads of beautiful sculptures, gardens and hand-made seats plus shady and canvas awning spots where you can relax, take a rest and ground yourself from the headiness of the festival. As well as rediscovering your creativity, you can learn ways to live lighter on the land, and to create and special keep-sake you’ll treasure for years.
