The Glade

The Glade Area was born in the mid to late 90s, emerging out of the Field of Avalon, the Experimental Sound Field and Lost Vagueness, as a new dance music area on the central tree line, at the heart of the festival.

Its main desire was to bring experimental electronic and roots music to the fields of Glastonbury and facilitate the pioneering sounds into the 2000s era and beyond.

Three decades later, the Glade area is still breathing and growing. Analogous to its surrounding trees, The Glade represents the genres it was founded on, while driving the nuanced and evolving sounds of today.

For 2025, the Glade main stage stays consistent with its original vision, offering a lineup of experimental dance and roots music. Celebrating pioneering and legacy live acts, performances will be seen from Leftfield, Goldie, Third World, Dele Sosimi, Max Cooper, and A Guy Called Gerald and Jungle Drummer plus a host of DJ shows from the likes of Carl Cox with his Funk & Soul show with Eric Powell, Richie Hawtin, Don Letts, Channel One Sound System, Annie Mac and Marshall Jefferson.

Newer faces dominating the electronic scene, Shygirl, Skepta, Joy Orbison, Sherelle, Amelie Lens, and Nabihah Iqbal also join the lineup.

Smaller sister stage, the Glade Dome, is a dance-heavy hideaway nestled in the growth of swaying poplar trees and colourful canopies. Expect exciting experimental dance acts with sets from Daphni, Leon Vynehall, Shy One, DJ Seinfeld, IZCO and Jamz Supernova as well as pioneers of the Dnb scene, Calibre and Fabio + Grooverider and minimal house veterans, Mathew Jonson, Margaret Dygas and Dyed Soundorom.

And it wouldn’t be a Glade lineup without some dub as Prince Fatty, Don Letts and Liam Bailey bring warming roots music to the stage.

The Treehouse bar is the one of the Glade’s dedicated drinking holes amongst the trees and will also be serving up a range of great tunes from BBC Radio 6’s finest, Tom Ravenscroft, and many more exclusive DJ sets.
